Cordial Reception Everywhere

The Governor and the Hon. J. Carroll and party, on board the cable steamer Iris, landed at Mangonui on Thursday, and visited the native settlement at Perm, where the Governor was welcomed by the natives, and subsequently Mr Houston, M.H.R., presented the Governor with an address from the Europeon residents of Mangonui County, expressing their appreciation at Lord Ranluirly's services to the Colony, and regret at his departure. The Governor visited Kawakawa to-day, and received a cordial welcome from the people, and left in the alternoon for Whangavei.
