German advices state that a Japanese mine destroyed the cruiser Bayan, not the torpedo destroyer Skori. The majority of the crew perished.
The employment of the Retvisan as a stationary battery has seriously loosened her plates.
The dismantling of the Mandjur is persistently delayed.
A Japanese cruiser is still delayed at Woosung.
Colonel Davidson (American Consul) has arrived at Shanghai, and proceeds to Autung in a week.
The Japanese executed a Korean, who was acting as a Eussian spy at Ping-
Yang,
Admiral Wirenus has ordered the stay of the Piraens, until arrangements can be made for coal from Russian colliers.
Herculean efforts are being made to prepare the Baltic fleet to sail for the East in July, coaling from transports en route.
