The W.F.C.A. (Masterton) and Eketahuna Cricket Clubs met here, on Thursday, Eketahuna winning a very close game by eeven runs. When the ninth wicket fell for Eketahuna, 20 runs were required to win. Passau, the last man, made the required number in fine style. The highest scores were: Masterton, Williams 24, Styles 19, none of the others reaching double figures; Eketahuna : Page 20, Passau 22, Cowlam 13. Baling analysis—Masterton, Styles 4 for 10, Ralph 2 for 16, Smith 1 for 9, W.lliame 1 for 19 ; Eketahuna, L. Armstrong 3 for 3; Priest 2 for 12, Page 2 for 10, F. Armstrong 2 for 21.
The new hall at Bongokokako is to be opened with a social, on Wednesday next. The settlers are making corn- ' plete arrangements in anticipation of the crowd that always attend the socials in that district. The catering is in the hands of the Eady's. The Rongainaißifle Club fire a match with Mauriceville, at Mauriceville, on Good Friday.
