WEATHER IN AUSTRALIA.

Gale and Rain.

(Received To-day, at 1.27 a.m.)

Melbourne, This Day.

A tremendous gale, with heavy rain, blew all day on Saturday, and continued yesterday, doing considerable damage. Many yachts are ashore in Hobson's Bay. Tramway traffic has been impeded, owing to the lines being under water. The river Yarra rose to the level of the planking on Queen's Bridge, and floods are feared unless the weather abates.
