Brutal Treatment of Private Soldiers.

Two German non-commissioned officers have recently been tried by Courtmartial at Madgeburg for the ill-treat-ment of privates by kicking them, belabouring them with bludgeons, striking them with their aide-arms, throwing lumps of coal at; them, and scrubbing their naked bodies with nail brushes. One of the prisoners, a lancesergeant, was found guilty upon five couots of ill-treatment of subordinates, abuse of authority, and committing an assault. He was sentenced to sevon days' mild arrest. His fellow prisoner was acquitted.
