Wellington Wipol Sales.

Messrs Murray, Roberts and Co., have received tho following wool market cablegram from their London House, Messrs Sanderson, Murray and Co., dated 27th January :—Compared with oponing rates inferior Merino advanced 5 per cent. Tho market is very firm for other sorts. Messrs Levin and Co., Ltd., report: - " The third sale of the season was hold to-day at tho Art Gallery, tho various brokers offering 4000 bales. There was a large attendance of buyers, the best muster that has been scon at the sales, several Continental and Home buyers attending for tho first time. The wools in the catalogue were exceptionally free from grease, but seed andcocts were very prevalent, and materially affected the value of much that was offered. Lambs' wool was in good demand, and realised as high as 7-|d, but seedy lambs had to sell at a considerable reduction on this. Generally, there was a rise of -jd to on the December sale prices, and we quitted nearly the whole of the cataloguo under the hammer. The range of prices to-day was as follows:—Merino, ; medium crossbreds and Romneys, to 7d; coarse crossbreds and Lincolns, 6£d to 7d ; logstained and inferior, 6d ; piccos and bellies, 4dtosd; locks,to3d; slighJy seedy 5d to s.>d. Some of the prices realised were: Rewarewa JWS fine 6fjd, Fernglen 6*d, Clive 6fd, Tepunga 6fd, Larehbank 6£d> Morrison's Hill 7d, ARC 6d, Toroto, lambs 7ijd, Homewood, lambs 7£d, WWW 7d, Riverside, lambs 7d, W and CH 7d, GJB 7d.

The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., report as follows : _ Tbe Wellington wool-brokers held their third sale of the season today, when they submitted a catalogue comprising about 4000 bales. Our catalogue consisted of about 1000 bales. There was a large attendance of buyers, and bidding was at times excited. A large proportion of our catalogue was cleared under the hammer at an occasional advance of Id to l|d on December prices, the greatest advance being in coarse crossbreds. Lambs' wool sold well at up to Bd. The following are a few of the clips sold:—WW over A, 6Jd; AX, o^d; Schofiald, 6Jd; C & HF, 6sd; AS under half-circle, 63-d ; AN in square, 7d ; D—, 6sd ; TS, 62d ; FG over stroke, 7£d for half-bred and 6£d for crossbred; —RN, 6_d to 6i|-d ; Emerald G.en, 6£d for crossbred to 7:] d for half bred. We quoteMerino, 3d per lb ; half-bred, to 7-Jd ; fine crossbred, 7Jd to 7 Jd; medium crossbred, 6|d to 7d; coarse crossbred, 6d to 6kl; inferior and logstained, 4-J-d to 5-:] d; pieces and bellies, 3£d to U& ; locks, l£d to 3d ; lambs' well-grown, 3id to 8d ; seedy, 3d to s:}-d. The United Farmers' Co-operative Association, Limited, and tho Wairarapa Farmers' Association jointly report as follows:—The third salo of the series was held in the Art Gallery. The combined catalogues offered by brokers amounted to 3900 balesi There was a large attendance of buyers, and contiderable competition. Compared with last sale, there was an advance of id per lb. on all grades. Lambs' wool was in demand, and high prices were given for superior lots. We quote: —Medium crossbred and Romney, 6-Jd to 7|d ; coarse crossbred, 6d to 7d ; inferior and logstained, s:]d to 6£d; lambs' wool, super 7d to 8d; lambs' wool, medium 6d to 7(1; lambs' wool, inferior and seedy, 5d to 6ii; bellies and pieces, 3d to 4|d; locks, 2dVd to 2£d. Murray, Roberts and Co. report: —At the third sale of the present season we catalogued 1135 bales out of a total offering of 3888 bales. The attendance of buyers was large, including representatives from America and tho Continent, as well as the usual Bradfoid buyers, the number of the latter on this occasion being considerably in excess of previous sales. The wool offered was mainly strong crossbred in heavy con dition, and the quality generally was not equal to wools shown at the two earlier sales. Prices advanced from half penny to three-farthings per pound on most, lots, but the advance was not so marked on the brighter wools, owing to the condition of these being heavier than earlier shorn wools. Lambs wool was eagerly bought, and all lots were sold at good prices. Pieces and locks also brought good values. We quote —Half bred (inferior quality), 7d to per lb; fine crossbred, 7d to 7£d ; medium crossbred and Romney, 6£d to 7£d ; Lincoln and coarse crossbred, 6£d to 7d; lambs, 6;] d to B£d ; lambs (seedy), 4£d to 5f d; pieces and bellies, 4d to s£d; locks, 2d to 3}d-
