GAMBLING IN COTTON.
Failure of a Firm of Brokers.

New York, January 31.
Messrs A. B. Baxter and Co., cotton brokers, with a hundred and twenty-five branches in the United States, have failed. It is estimated that they lost one hundred thousand dollars (.620,000) daily for the last three months.
