NAPIER SUPREME COURT.
\By Telegraph — Press Association). Napier, This Day. The Supreme Court opened this morning before Mr Justice Cooper. The calendar is of the usual order, comprising nine charges against eight prisoners. Referring to the absence of cases against Natives from the calendar, the Judge said it was a matter for congratulation that in a district like tbis, with a considerable Maori population, there should be such an immunity. Norman Gustavus Hall, on a charge of forgery, pleaded guilty, and was sentenced to two years; Frank Marsden, theft of a portmanteau and clothes to the value of £25, two years; Timothy Smith, theft of a cheque, granted six months' probation.
