LABOUR REVOLT IN RUSSIA.
♦— Anarchy and Rebellion. Alarming State of Affairs. Hundreds of Strikers Killed and Wounded. Shops Sacked and Contents Pitched Into the Sea. Odessa in a State of Siege. (Received To-day, at 8.56 a.m.) St. Petersburg, August 9. In the course of the strike disturbances at Nikoloieff, the troops killed twelve and wounded two hundred who tried to storm the Government spirit depot. It is computed that during last month two hundred strikers were killed and two thousand wounded. London, August 9. The Times declares that a considerable portion of industrial Eussia is in a condition bordering on wholesale anarchy. The dockers sacked many shops at Odessa, throwing the contents into the sea. They forced the Chief of Police to flee, and declare they will burn the city if troops are ordered to shoot.
