Before the inquest on Eichard Bishop, who wae found dead in a cottage in Hamilton, the jury viewed the body, which had begun to decompose. The cottage was in an insanitary state, and unfit for habitation.

On the advice of a medical man, the jury and the Mayor, who was also present, concurring, the Coroner gave necessary authority to fire the dwelling and cremate the body. Deceased was last seen alive on Wednesday. Medical evidence showed that deceased suffered from internal cancer, and had died from exhaustion.
