Tho Foresters' anniversary dinner was held on Wednesday night, aud was in every way a thorough succes, Mr Pelling's large dining room being filled. The Oddfellows were represented by over twenty members; tho Druids wero also represented. After the excellent! spread provided by Mrs Pelling was done full justice to, songs, recitations and toasts kept things going lively till, nearly midnight. The gathering was the largest and most successful yet held by friendly societies in this district.
The first card tournament, between teams representing the Oddfellows and Foresters, is to take place in tbo meeting room, next Wednesday. The Dairy Union has decided Co erect another creamery at Nireaha. Mr W. H. Hawkins will deliver a lecture on the Liquor Question in the Hall on Friday, July 10th.
