HARBOUR BOARDS.
Opposition to Proposed Honorariums to Chairmen.
\isy Telegraph — Press Association^
Christchurch, This Day.
At the meeting, yesterday, of the Lyttelton Harbour Board it was resolved to express an opinion opposed to Auckland's proposal to obtain power from Parliament to grant honorariums to chairmen of Harbour Boards.
It was stated that payment of such offices brought in undesirable elements. The payment meant that there would be a scramble for the loaves and fishes.
