HOCKEY.
• The final game in the first round of the Wairarapa Association took place at Masterton, yesterday, between the Maeterton and Carterton Clubs, the former winning by three goals to two. For the winners J. Sellar scored two goats and Gray one, while Fisber scored twice for Carterton. The game throughout was ovenly contested, and, therefore, of an interesting nature. Tho Wairarapa representative teams, Seniors and Juniors, play the Wellington representatives on August Ist. The Wairarapa Championship is to consist of three rounds, and the second round will probably be commenced next Saturday.
