Splendid entries for the Show that is being held to-day havo been received. Pot plants, cut blooms, fruit and vegetables mako as fine a display as the Agricultural Hull has scon for many a year. All parts of the district, and many places beyond, are represented. Tlie ratepayers of Belvedere district will shortly hold a meeting to consider the question of accepting a grant from Government of J2IOO towards the cost of bridging the Ilinaki Stream, to which is attached a condition that tho ratepayers shall contribute in tho proportion of £2 to .01. A strong endeavour will be mado to secure the grant unconditionally. Mr E. Beard, butcher, whist endeavouring to hold iv a horse drawing a wood-laden cart, slipped, and fell under tho wheel. His injuries, though not serious, will necessitate his laying up for a week or two.
