W.F.C.A. v. Scratch Team.

The above match was played on the school grounds, kindly lent by Mr W. 11. Jackson, yesterday afternoon, and resulted in a win for the scratch team by 8 wickets and 6 runs. A. Styles captained the scratch team and J. F. Williams the W.F.C.A. The latter winning the toss went in first, but only made 13 runs, Styles and Iveson doing most damage with the ball. The latter's bowling analysis read : Overs 5, maidens 1, runs 6, wickets 5. Styles came out with the iino average of 4 for 7, while Pacey captured the remaining wicket for no runs. The scratch team put up 84, J. O'Leary playing well for 17 not out, Styles 17, and Pacey 14. C. Smith, who took 4 wickets for 14, bowled well, as did O'Connor and Williams. In their second innings W.F.C.A. did better, putting on 84 runs, thanks to the good batting of Wyber and Williams, Requiring 14 to win, the scratch team put up 19 for 2 wickets, and stumps were drawn.
