Mr W. B. Chennells' Land Sale. An auction sale of freehold propertywas conducted by Mr W. B. Chennells, at Petone, on Wednesday, when 85 sections of Mr W. Buick's property, close to the State School, were submitted. There was a large attendance, but buyers were somewhat shy. Three sections frontingßuiek-sfcrcet realised £4 Is per foot, and two in Eliaabeth-street brought £3 11s per foot, the remainder being withdrawn, the bidding not reaching reserve prices. Mr Chennells reports having disposed of a number of sections privately after the sale, the value of land sold amounting to £2,000.
