SUPPOSED SUICIDE.

Between seven and eight o'clock this morning, Mr J. R. Thornton, solicitor, was picked up on St. Clair beach in an unconscious state with a wound from a pea rifle in the centre of his forehead. The weapon was still in his hand. Very little hopes for his recovery are entertained.
