Lansdowne Water Supply.

[to tiie editor.] Sir, —As a resident of Lansdowne permit me to point out that the local appearing in your issue of yesterday, n scarcity of water in that locality, and persons carrying water for long distances, is scarcely correct. We have more water here this year than we have had for a number of years past. Possibly those living high up may experience sjpiuo causp for complaint , in phis respect, in cases whore no provision had been made as regards tanks. But the great majority of residents of this picturesque suburb have an abundant supply, I am pleased to say, and do not wish the statement published yesterday to go forth unchallenged, as although it may bo truo in one or two cases —and those exceptional—it does not apply to tho other residents in any sense.—l am, etc., L.YNsDOWNJs. Gth March.
