PRESENTATION TO MR H. HILTON.

About twenty fivo members of the Albion Football Club assembled in the Empire Hotel last night, for the purpose of making a presentation to Mr H. Hilton on tho occasion of his approaching marriage. Mr J. Carpenter, ViceCaptain of tho Club, in the absenco of the Captain, presided. The toasts of "The King" and" Wairarapa Thursday Union," having been duly honored, the Chairman rose to say he had a very pleasing duty to perform, and, in handing to Mr Hilton a handsome marble clock referred to the esteem in which Mr Hilton was hcli] both on and off the football field. For the last four years Mr Hilton had been a prominent member of the Club, and had done much to help it along. On behalf of the members he wished MiHilton long life and prosperity in his married state. Tho health of Mr Hilton and his future bride was then drunk in bumpers, with musical accompaniment. Mr Redding favoured the company with a song iv good stylo, after which Mr Hilton responded in a neat speech, in which ho thanked the members for their good wishes and handsome present. During the evening, other toasts honoured were : " Masterton Football Club," " Albion Football Club," " Tho Press," and " Our Worthy Chairman." Songs and recitations, given by Messrs Redding, Bush, O'Lcary, Chapman, Corbett, Jackson and Milton, helped to pass away a very pleasant evening, which concluded with the singing of "Auld Lang Syne."
