THE BAND CONTEST. [to the editob.] Sn,-My attention has been drawn to a paragraph which appeared in lasl Thursday's issue of your paper, stating that the Municipal Band had not entered for the band contest lobe held in Wellington early next year. As the paragraph in question will no doubt lead to a deal of misunderstanding I wish to state that the Band hrn entered for tho <f test" and " marching" competitions, Tho "test" selection has arrived, and, as soon as tho holidays aro over, the Band will go in for hard'praetico for tho contest.—lam, etc., , Chas.
