Mastekton, Monday. Messrs R, E. Hornblow & Co., auctioneers and produce merchants, report wholesale prices as follows for week ending Saturday, July 27th: —Business during the week showed a decided improvement and our sales in Eketahuna and Masterton wore exceptionally good. Prices for all kinds of produce are hardening and much better hav been obtained. Poultry is in good demand and readily sell at our prices. Enquiries for pigs, young ones, aro much better. Butter and eggs romain at our last quotations. Bacon and hams sell freely at our prices. We have had a large quantity of fruit and ornamental trees in the Mart during the week, and have found very little difficulty in quitting them. Our weekly salo of horses drew it large number of people, and every horse 4jfJi one found purchaser. Finland department shows signs of improvement, and we have had quite a number of enquiries during tho week for properties of almost every description. Our quotations are as follows Eggs Is per dozen, butter !td per lb. Hams and bacon, 6d to 7|d per lb. Oranges 4s Gd per case. Poultry—Fowls 2s to 2s 9d per pair; ducks 3s 9d; geese 4s 9d ; turkeys ss, Produce, Oats 2s, oaten sheaf 2s 9d to 3s; straw chaff Is 3d; potatoes, 60s to 70s per ton. Horses—£4 10s to £G for light hacks; harness horses £7 to £11; light draught £8 to £l2los. Traps £7; light traps £l7 10s; saddles 12s Gd to 30s.
