It is feared that the French intend to attack Bangkok, and hold it as a guarantee. , The Paris newspapers confirm the statement in the Standard as to the settlement, but the Banckri porre-. spondent of Tho TimetijflKng< to» day, says it is feared the Frenflh Admiral is acting on divergent orders. Paris, August 1. It is of&oially stated that Siam has agreed to give the guarantees demanded by France. Admiral Humann is demanding the cession of the port of Chontabun, as a guarantee.
