Mauriceville Road Board.
The ordinary meeting of the Mauriceville Koa<l Board was held on Saturday, Jaiy 25th. Present, Messrs G. Gunderson (chairman), C. Forsberg and H. W. Jackson. The minutes of the previous meeting and correspondence outwards were read, Mr Gordon Cummiug wrote to the Board that slips had occurred on the Central Manganiahoe Road, rendering it dangerous for traffic, and requesting that the necessary repairs be effected. It was decided to put a man on to clear the road. A letter was received from Messrs Frasi and McKenzie advising that certain progress payments should be made to the c ontractors on the Dryer's Rock Road Extensien and Wangaehu Road. A letter was read from the County I Council intimating that Mr S.Riogard, the ranger, had sent in his resignation, and desiring the Board to recommend another person in his place. It was decided to call for applications from persons willing to undertake the duties. A telegram was received from the Secretary to the Treasrury informing the Board that the Loan of £4OO for forming and metalling part of Mauriceville West, Road is now available. The chairman was authorised to make arrangements for getting thi3 work started. Mr Forsberg was authorised to arrange to have the bush felled on road line between sections 40 and 42 Mauriceville sub-divisions; it was also decided to open this road. Cheques amounting to £284 5s 3d were passed for payment.
