FROZEN MEAT EXPORT.
The .Wellington Meat Export Company is shipping per British Queen, wliicli is to leave for London on Thursdoy, 1200 carcases of mutton, and the Gear Meat Company 4000 carcases, and both arc already preparing for their next shipments. These will consist of 5000 carcases, per Ruapehu, by the former, and between 5000 and 6000, per Florida, by the latter, These vessels are to leave during the current month. The New Zealand Meat Export Company has now exported 32,000 carcases mutton, besides a large quantity of beef, the bulk being during the present season, and the Gear Company upwards of 20,000 carcases mutton, all during the current season. During the pssfc year New Zealand exported 150,000 carcases. It needs no lengthy calculation to show that ther,e is every probability of Wellington exceeding this total single handed, quite independant of the fact that a third company will ere long have a plant in full operation.—N.Z.
