At high tide to-day some damage Was done by the sea, the tide being four feetabovethe level ofspriug tides;' At the stores of Franzen & Co., at the port, and whioh project over the tide-way, the water broke through the .flooring, and was dashing upto the ceiling, causing, rauchdamage to goods, and at one time Franzen 'feared his stores would be carried away,. The port road from the gas works downwards .was overflowed, and some heavy logs, were floating about. It is difflcult'tb ascertain'the damages as yet, but it is not thought-they are very heavy, but if the wind continues-; it. is feared;the tide to-night - will' be baeked ; up ;; %en mora, and then serious damage is possible,
