LORD ELLENBOROUGH AND THE BANDBOX.
Lord Ellenbofough. was once about to n° oll a circuit, when Lady Ellenboroiigh said that she should like to accompany him. He replied that he had no objection, provided that she did not encumber the carriage with bandboxes, which were his utter abhorrence. During thn first day s journey, Lord Ellenborough, having to stretch his legs, struck his foot against something below the seat. He discovered that it was a bandbox; up went the window, and out went the bandbox. ' The coachman stopped, and the footman, thinking that tho bandbox had fallen out of the window. by some extraordinary frPLT Roin * t0 P' ok [i U P> when Lord Ellenborough furiously called out, 1 Drive on !" The bandbox accordingly was . left by the side of the ditch. Having reached the country town where he was to officiate as judge, Lord Ellenborough proceeded to array himself for his appearance in the court. "Now,"said he t "wherei3mywigf "Mylord,"re, plied the attendant, " it was tfyrowi} out of the carriage window,"
