CAPETOWN, April 8.
Tn the Assembly, General Smuts, after a vigorous attack on the Budget, moved that the Assembly decline to go nite Committee of Supply, until the Government submits reduced Estimates of expenditure and gives an assurance of reduced taxation, and that wage determinations shall bo confined to industrial centres. He said in three years the surplus amounted to over two millions sterling, and remissions of taxation only to half a million.
