WAIMATE HUNT’S OPENING MEET.

The Waimate District Hunt open eel the season with a meet at liie Kennels, and there was a good num lei of followers, while many e-u--tliusiasts watched the proceedings fioin cars. After several .checks, the hounds worked across the road into Mr O’Neil''?, kcent improved, and puss crossed a turnip field and then over a ploughed paddock, with the hounds in close pursuit, and then turned into a gully, where a kill was registered.

The then returned to The Kennels, where Mrs. Rattray, wife of the Master, had a nice alteri con tea waiting, which was much enjoyed.

Several new horses were out and more than proved their jumping capabilities. Among those following were: The Master (Capt. N. Rattray) o-i Grey Star. Hunstman (Mr T.
