COMING TO WAIMATE. NEXT TUESDAY & WEDNESDAY. Messrs Price Bros. Sample Rooms will next week hold perhaps the largest and finest collection of Russian and Canadian furs_ever seen in the Dominion, the occasion being the returii to this town of Madame and Mr Menere, the noted Christchurch fur merchants who recently returned to New Zealand from London, which city they left on. 31st December last, arriving in New Zealand only last month. During their absence they visited Russia. Canada, Belgium and Persia, and the furs they secured in these countries are really wonderful. Amongst the hundreds of coats that they are bringing to Waimate is one made of real Hudson Bay golden seal. This is the first coat of its kind to be shown in New Zealand, and is at present the rage in London. It is a really magnificient garment, and only two skins were needed in its manufacture. Other coats that will be shown are squirrel, mink, marmot, sable, musquash, mole, beaver, nutria, Kolinski Pershiniki, ermine, real Alaska seaL Bering Sea silver seal, etc., etc., and opera coats of white fur trimmed with white ostrich feathers (these are the latest Paris rage). Hundreds of bridge wraps and necklets of every known pelt will also be displayed. Owing to the great English coal strike being on while they were in London, the fnr warehouses were piled high with Curs that they eould not sell, and Madame Menere was. in consequence, able to make some remarkably cheap purchases to r cash. The display will commence at 10 a.m. on Tuesday morning next when the whole of the magnificent stock will be sold at prices much I under New Zealand wholesale warehouse prices, which means that won derful imported coats will be so< nt the price of the common rabbitDuring her trip through the East. Madame purchased some magnincen tapestry, amber, ivory, and °^'’ r novelties, and these will also be " played.
