ENFORCEMENT OF PROHIBITION (Per Press Association —Copyright. WASHINGTON, Dec. 28. General Andrews (of the Prohibition Enforcement Authorities) announces that he has a new formula to make- “drinking unsafe for democracy.”' Starting on January 1, alcohol will contain a certain percentage of otherwise harmless drug, so unpleasant to the taste that it will be impossible - for the most corrugated throat to swallow it. OTTAWA, Dec. 28; The Customs announced that the anti-rum running treaty between Canada and the United States, will come into full force to-day. The treaty provides that all ships clearing from Canada, with liquor cargoes, must prove beyond doubt that the cargoes will be landed at the point of destination. NEW YORK, December 28. Because he the Prohibition Act was the most drastic law ever passed by any law making body in the United States and could not be enforced in any large city, the Assistant United States Attorney, Mr Harbin, to-day resigned from the National Prohibition Enforcement Staff.
