FLOODS IN N.S.W.
BENEFICIAL BAIN. CROPS UNINJURED. (Ptr Press Association—Copyright.) SYDNEY, this day. Although the floods have subsided at Newcastle and Cessnoek, and people are able to return to their homes, additional heavy rains on the central coast districts have cans ed serious floods in the Hunter Valley, where the river overflowed its banks, submerging farm lands and rich lucerne flats. The damage is very extensive. Despite the heavy falls in some centres, the rains will greatly benefit the primary industries. Most of the harvest has already been taken off before the rain, while the present condition of the soil will fen able wheatgrowers to commence fallowing. The damage to standing crops is negligible.
