DUNEDIN PRODUCE MARKETS. Messrs Bray Bros., Ltd., Dunedin, report as follows: — The chaff market remains on the quiet side with only a fair turnover. Prices range from £5 10s to £6 according to the quality. Poor qual ity and second grade is difficult to sell. The oat market is quiet. B grade gartons are quoted at 3/3 f.o.b.s.i. and A gartons at 3/6. This is equivalent to 2/6 and 2/9 on trucks country sidings. The local market is being supplied with Canadian fowl wheat, and about 100 tons of Canadian milling wheat were also brought on to this market. Fowl wheat is now selling round about 7/6 bushel ex store. The potato- market is easy. Larger qonsignments of new season's potatoes are coming forward from the North Island and local grown are increasing in supply. The market for old potatoes is finished. The cnion market is steady, and Australian grown are now offering. Business in the fruit marts has been busy. Moderate supplies of cherries have come to- hand and strawberries are in good supply, and prices moderate. Imported fruits are short supply and -high in price, bananas in particular Being wanted | and sold up to 40s per case. High prices are ruling in Australia .for all lines of fruit. This, together with the cost of freight and charges placed the fruit beyond the read', of the average buyer. Apples arc coming forward freely from the Canterbury and Nelson districts Tomatoes are in good supply and prices moderate. Green peas are also in better supply and prices easier. There is a good demand for all lilies of vegetables, Eggs are in short supply. Hams and bacon are in good demand and hams short sup ply. There is a good demand for ah lines of fruit and vegetables and dairy produce. The following prices have been realised : — Pears choice dessert 4d to 6ld lb. cooking 3d. Rhubarb 2id to 3jd. New Potatoes: local 2d to 3d, North Island l|d to 2d. Butter, dairy pats 1/-, bulk 1/4. Hams 1/4 lb. Porkers IQd. Heavyweights 7d. Cheese, medium BJd to lOd, large to BJd, loaf lOd. Walnuts, choice Akaroas 1/1. Peanuts sd. Almonds 9d to lOd. Honey : Choice bulk 6d lb, Iolb tins 6s to 7s, Alb pats to 4/6 doz, sections 12s doz Cabbages- Choice 3/6 to- 6/6. Cauliflowers, choice 10/6, others from 6/-, Lettuces 2/- to 4/- dozen. Celery to Is bunch. Asparagus 7s to Us doz. Cucumbers, choice to 2/6. Green Peas: 4d to 6d. Parsnips to 9s. Onions, Canadian to 18s. Eggs, wanted, stamped 1/10, cased 1/9. Potatoes, old £5 to £6. Fowl Wheat 7s to Bs. Oats, A gartons 3/2, B. Gartons 2/11. Cow Chaff £4 10/-. Oat sheaf chaff, choice £6 to £6 10s. Wheaten Straw: £2 10s. Oaten straw ,£3 5s per ton.
