The ex-Air Secretary, Lord Thomson, in a sfeech, declared that New Zealand would soon be brought within ten days of London by machines flying 1-5,000 miles non-stop stretches. The future of British aviation rested in long distance flights. He cited the case of the 3,400 miles non-stop flight.
