The Waimate Silver Band and Pipe Band will be in attendance, and luncheon and afternoon tea booths will be fiound on the grounds. Train time-tables have been aranged to suit country visit ors.

In the cash running events the twenty-eight entrants include many runners of note, such as the sprint runner, S. A. Tate (St. Andrew’s), Dean (Pleasant Point), and Hansen (St. Andrews). Waimate is represented by H. 8. Dash, F. D. Fletcher, G. S. Gillespie, K. Smith, and L. C. Veiteh. Many of those competing were seen in action at the recent ' evening sports meeting held in Waimate, and from the performances then shown some exciting and interesting finishes should result on Boxing Day. The cycling section has drawn no less than twenty-five entries, and among these is included the name of the well-known champion Phil O’Shea. Other well-known Christchurch riders competing are J. Bearman, H. W. Birch, C. L. Burnand, R. Chamberlain, F. Flanagajn .and H. Watson, all of whom have been seen on the Waimate track previously. Two Palmerston North riders, C. F. Smith and A. Stewart have also entered as well as many Waimate, Timaru and Oamaru riders. Excellent sport is assured in this section. The piping and dancing section, as has been previously the case, will be an interesting one, and many wellknown exponents of the national dances have entered for the various events. The field events have drawn a good response and the names of many well-known athletes will be among those of the contestants.
