WEDDING.

HOSKINS—PEVERILL. Holy Trinity Church, Avonside, (Christchurch) prettily decorated with lilies and daisies, was the scene of a wedding on Tuesday evening when Edna Lilian, only daughter of Mr and Mrs Arthur Peverill, was married to Albert Howard, only son of Mr and Mrs A. J. Hoskins, of Waimate. The Rev. O. Fitzgerald officiated at the ceremony, and Mr Arthur Lilley presided at the organ. The bride, who' was given away by her father, wore a sleeveless gown of ivory crepe de chine, made with wide godets in the skirt front., and embroidered in an all over design in crystal beads. Her veil of filmy tulle, embroidered in silver, was arranged from a coronet of silver tissue leaves, and orange blossoms, and she carried a bouquet of white flowers with touches of pink. Miss Rona Saville, who attended as bridesmaid, wore a dainty frock of hyacinth blue crepe de chine, made with a front panel of deep cream insertion edged with lace, and the skirt hem was bordered with lace in wide scallops. Miss Eileen Grummitt, who also attended the. bride, wore a frock of rose marie pink crepe de chine, made with a yoke of lace, and lace and insertion were also used in the front panel. Round their hair they wore half-circlets of flowers to- tone, and they carried bouquets of blue and pink shaded Howers. Air Laurie Nash attended the bridegroom as best man, and Mr Edwin Peverill was groomsman.

A reception was held in the Avonside Schoolroom, where Mrs Peverill received the guests wearing a. frock of black marocain, made with a panel skirt, Oriental trimming and a narrow scarf dollar, and a black crinoline straw hat with velvet, ribbon trimming arranged in fan shape across the front and centred with a buckle of brilliants. She carried a, bouquet of red roses. Mrs Hoskins, mother of the bridegroom, wore a black silk marocain frock relieved with gold panne velvet, and a smart black hat with touches of gold, and she carried a bouquet of gold roses.

When the bride left for her wedding tour, she wore a frock of bois de rose crepe de chine made with a pleated front panel, and the skirt formed of circular tiered frills, bishop sleeves with a narrow inlet band of gold lace, and a bpw of the material on one shoulder. Her hat of black crinoline straw was trimmed with black velvet ribbon, with a large pink rose on the brim and she carried a coat of repp cloth to tone made with pleatings at each side, the collar and cuffs being formed of narrow loops of the material.
