BRISBANE, December 21 The Japanese swimmer, Takaishi won the 100 metres championship in lit) l-ssees, and the 200 metres championship in 2 minutes 23 3-5 seconds—both Australian Takaishi won both events easily. LONDON, Dec. 21. The "Dally News” states that the Rugby League has invited Mr Ponder to attend the meeting to-day. Mr Ponder declares the exclusion of Mr Mair is a studied insult, and adds that if Mr Mair is not admitted, he will state the case in the newspapers. The “Star” expresses regret that the New Zealand League team will not be playing an exhibition match in London, because they could teach the amrteurs some useful lessons in back play.
