INTER-UNIVERSITY CONTESTS. (Per Press Association —Copyright. LONDON, Dec. 20. At Rugby, Cambridge University defeated Edinburgh By 19 points to 8. North Ireland defeated Oxford University by 14 points to eight. THE MAORIS IN FRANCE. FRENCH TEAM FOR INTERNATIONAL MATCH. PARIS, Dec. 20. The failure of the experimental team of French youngsters against the Maoris, and the display of the veteran Dupont, who pulled the sidetogether, and- wbo also was largely responsible for the French points, has caused the selectors to pick a team of veterans to meet the Maoris in the international match on 29th December. The team consists of Destarac, Jaurreguy, Baillette, Graciet, Velat, Dwnwtnoir, Bader, Ribeyr, Pl- - Prevost, Cassayet, Bousquet, Leyroux, Gennett, Acheberry. The reserves include Dupont, Besctony and Ghiko.
The team’s new international play ers are Velat, Bader, Prevost and Boufequet. The newspapers are doubtful if even such an experienced combination will be able to defeat the Maoris.
