(Per Press Association—Copyright. SYDNEY, December 19. The ladies’ hundred yards backstroke championship of New South Wales was won by Miss M. Moling in Imin. 21 3-5 secs.—an Australian record. BRISBANE, December 19. The visiting Japanese swimmers, Taikaishi and Saito, at the Swimming Association’s Carnival, easily defeated the Queensland champions in 100 metres backstroke and 400 metres scratch l aces, their times being Imin. 21 2-5 secs, and smin. 21 4-ssecs.
