A Bill to prohibit performances at places of entertainment on Christmas Day and Good Friday passed all stages in both the Assembly and Legislative Council, without opposition. SYDNEY, December 18. A further death from the recent bush fires in the western districts is reported, Clifford Charles, of Dubbo. succumbing to injuries. Charles was with Beveridge, when th € latter fatally burned. Farmers who suffered state that they wil' sue the Raiway Department for damages, aheg.ng that sparks from engines caused the outbreak-. SYDNEY, December 18. The police are inquiring into the thereabouts of Peter Marten, who has Loen missing since December 9. Marten’s relatives reside in New Zealand. and anxiety is felt concerning the missing man’s safety. It is known that he was studying for an accountancy examination, and it is thought he is suffering from loss of memory. The police are convinced that he has not left the country.
