A BOMBING SYNDICATE DISCOVERED. THE LEADERS CAPTURED. Press Association--Copyright. NEW YORK, Nov. 27. The existence of a sinister bomb syndicate, which offers to bomb anybuilding for the payment of anything from 500,000 dollars, which has operated in Chicago for many months,/has been revealed by the confession of a twenty-three-year-old girl and a male companion. Altogether forty outrages, including the dynamiting of the homes of policemen and witnesses in criminal trials, as well-as the bombing of barber shops and stores, has been traced to the syndicate, which is composed of dozens of persons; headed by Fred Walmquist and Lena Rice. The latter tired of domestic life; and deserted her husband and three' children in Michigan, and fled .with Walmquist. The pah- were captured in Chicago, when the police, following a tip from a former member of the syndicate, waited near a hardware sjtore which was due to be bombed at midnight because the management had violated a rule regarding remaining open on Sundays. Walmquist and the girl approached shortly after midnight. The girl dropped a package and ran towards a waiting automobile. Both were captured ,and also the driver of the car, under heavy police fire.

In the meantime the bomb exploded, wrecking the front of the store and shattering windows within an extensive radius.
