TROUBLE IN MOROCCO
RAISULI’S DOWNFALL. MB. MISS ASSOCIATION--COFYBIOHI LONDON, Feb. 2. The Times’ Tangier correspondent, describing the operations resulting in Raisuli’s surrender, says the Riffs encircled and attacked Tazrut on the 25th. The fighting resulted in heavy losses on both sides. Raisuli’s forces were heavily outnumbered and driven back. Tazrut fell on the 27th. Raisuli took shelter in an ancestor’s tomb, to which he was carried. He was unable to stand or walk owing to dropsy in his legs. When the Riff leaders arrived he surrendered, stating that if his life were spared he would obey Ab-del Krim’s orders whatever they were. The Riffs are strongly guarding Tazrut.
