LAST NIGHT'S MEETING. HEADMASTER’S REPORT. following report was presented I, the Headmaster ( Mr Pegler) to meeting of the School Commitlast night Teachers’ Certificate Examination. X', Mr C. W. Kibblewhite (comjktel: D. Mr H. Collett (complete); fa C. Kidd (complete, except for w subject); Miss F. M. Brown toniflete except for two subjects), fa Ethel Dunstan and Master Arjtnr R- Mines, High School pupils, obtained partial success in the D aminationMatriculation Examination (High School pupils). —Ethel Dunstan and Arthur R. Mines completed the examination. Full passes were obtain(j by Kathleen Cleland. Henrietta H. Gunn. Colin M. Lockhart, and J. Jdmrtson, and partial -passes by Jargaret G. Dennison, Arthur F. Hayman. Winsome P. Meyers, and Edith A. Naish. Leslie V. Lee passed the Accountants’ Preliminary examination. In the Senior National Scholarship aaminatoin Colin M. Lockhart was successful, and Ina L. Richardson, EGwen Scott, Llorance Bohm, Peter &id. Mina Gunn, Leslie A. D. Hayman, and A. Jas. Bryce obtained Senior Free Places. Junior National Scholarships were ton by Margaret F. Armstrong (Ist year High School) and Mary R. Beattie (Standard 6), and all our other candidates obtained Junior he Places by their success in the same examination, namely. Charles I. Parry, Cecil Y. Puttick, Pat R. Salthu?, Marjorie I. Shepherd, Betty IMalthus, and G. J. H. Bryee. Public Service Entrance. —In this Hanination success was especially noteworthy, twelve out of our fourteen candidates passing, four of thorn were in the honours list, namely, James Robertson (17th for New Zealand and 2nd for Canterbury), Winsome Katherine Meyers (22nd for New Zealand and 3rd for Canterbury), Edith A. Naish (41st for New Zealand and 6th for Canterbury), and Henrietta H. Gunn. The fat three occupied Ist, 2nd, and 3rd places for South Canterbury, and the last-named, the 6th place. Other successful pupils were Margaret G. Dennison, Grace E. Tooley, Innes W. Campbell, Kathleen Cleland, Jessie JfaePherson. Leslie C. Veitch, Bert 1 Wallis, Jas. T. Christie. All of the above thus obtained Senior Free Places also.
