OFFICIALLY MISSING.

UNTRACED DOCTORS. LONDON, Nov. 3. Hundreds of British doctors are officially “missing.” and search is being made for them through the established medical journals. Recently the “Lancet” contained a long list of practitioners whose whereabouts is unknown to the registrar of the General Medical Council. Why there should be so many misplaced medical men is hard to say. for they cannot all have disappeared, and doctors have never held a reputation for forgetfulness, says a London paper. Some of the “untraceables” have probably retired from active practice, as their registration dates back to the sixties and seventies of last century. On the other hand, there are many who were registered in the hist two or three years. Since the present list was prepared a large number of further inquiries have been sent out. states the central authority, ’but wherever a doctor sees his name in the lift he is asked to communicate with the registrar. A great amount of list inaccuracies was caused by the war, ami this is doubtless responsible for many of the missing. It is noticeable that there are a very large number of Irish and Scottish medical men who ctmnot be found.
