COMPETITION GAME. An A grade eonipeliiion game was played on the local courts between the Hill (Oaniaru) Club and the Waimate team, and resulted after a very pleasant day’s tennis in a win for the locals by the margin of two games—l 3 to 13. That, the games were fairly well contested may be seen from the points scored, namely, 152 to 144. The Oaniaru men’s division proved too strong for the local men, and as on many previous occasions the victory lies with the ladies, who played an exceptionally steady game throughout the afternoon, and won all their singles and doubles.
