TOTAL CASES FOR THE WEEK. Wellington, this day. The Health Department reports that the cases of pneumonic influenza and pneumonia in the various health districts for the week ended yesterday were as follows: — Auckland. — Pneumonic influenza cases, 18; deaths, 7. Pneumonia cases, 9; deaths, 1. Hawke’s Bay,—Pneumonic cases, 1; deaths, 0. Pneumonia cases, 1; deaths, 0. Wanganui and Taranaki. —Pneumonic influenza cases, 10; deaths, 0. Pneumonia cases, 1; deaths, 0. Wellington.—Pneumonic influenzal cases, 5; deaths, 2» Pneiunpnia cases 3; deaths, 2. Canterbury.-—Pneumonic influenza, cases, 62; deaths, 7. Pneumonia eases, 5; deaths, 2. Otago—Pneumonic influenza eases--53; deaths 19. Pneumonia .cases, 2; deaths, 0. North Auckland reports that there have been no eases of influenza or pneumonia for the week. The Health Department states that. the figures quoted above strengthen the new that the present influenza epidemic is in no way dissimilar from that of 1920.
