U.S. WAR DEBTS.

CONFERENCE OF LEADERS. MR HARDING ACTIVE. Press Assn.—By Tel.—Copyright. NEW YORK, February 5.. .According to the “New York Times s” Washington correspondent, Mr Harding will confer to-morrow with the leaders of the House and Senate, concerning the British Debt legislation. The President will do everything in his power to avoid the addition of an amendment to the Bill providing for the soldiers’ bonus, but should this be done, it is expected that the amendment will be killed in the Senate. Mr Harding has received reports that the opposition to funding is steadily decreasing. There will proljably be less than twenty Senators against .the measure. It is pointed out that the opposition, which will take the ground of too lenient terms, will be unable to overcome the fact that in view of the American Debt Commission’s acceptance of these terms, it is improbable that the British would accept more stringent conditions if the negotiations were re-opened.
