LONDON, August 4

Mr George Lacon, formerly of Christchurch and subsequently interested in the West Coast, and who represented New Zealand Government on the Agricultural Trade Mission to Argentina liefore the war, has arrived in London He informed the Australian Press Association that while quartered in Salonica with the British forces during the war, he discovered evidences of oil deposits and since demobilisation he had explored Macedonia on behalf of the Anglo-Persian Company and succeeded in obtaining concessions from the Greek Government in strenuous competition with the Standard Oil Companies.

Mr Lacon believes that Macedonia will become a new and important source of supply.
