WAIMATE HUNT.

MEETING OF COMMITTEE. A meeting of the Committee of the Waimate District Hunt was held yesterday afternoon. Present: Mesrs E. C. Studholme (President), A. Medlicott, J. Goldstone, J. M. Rattray, and Albert J. Hoskins, the secretary.

The N. Z. Racing Conference advised that the annual meeting should be held at Wellington on Thursday July 13. —Received. The secretary of the Canterbury District Committee wrote stating that the Committe had approved the change of date for the meeting, from July 13 to July 27th. The secretary of the Racing Conference wrote to the same effect. Three resignations were received and accepted with regret. The secretary stated that the S.C. Hunt had decided that the Point to Point Meeting would take place on June 24. He had made inquiries re the combined meeting of the Waimate and South Canterbury Hunt Clubs Mr Fraser had suggested that the Waimate Club hold their meet on 29th June and the combined meet at Morven on July 6th. Mr Studholme said he thought it would be better to have the combined meeting at Otaio so as to ensure a good following of members from Timaru.

Mr Goldstone moved that the combined meet be held at Otaio, (Springbank) on July 6. He thought that this would suit the South Canterbury Club better, and that failing that, they should fall in with the Timaru suggestion to hold th e meet at Morven.

Mr H. Fraser was communicated with by the secretary, who stated that he had agreed to the holding of the meet at Otaio, where he thought there would be a larger following. It was decided to ask permission from Mr H. B. S. Johnstone to hunt at Springbank.

It was resolved to hold the point-to-point meeting on June 29, a programme similar to last year, being agreed upon.

Messrs F. Geddes, T. Twomey, C. S. McLachlan, and A. B. Richards were appointed course selectors.

Th e Hunt Committee were appointed stewards; Messrs H. B. S. Johnstone and E. B. Fraser judges; Messrs J. Goldstone and E. C. d’Auvergne clerks of the scales; and Mr T. Twomey starter.

Messrs Goldstone, Medlicott, and Hoskins were appointed a committee to go into the question of trophies Messrs Medlicott and Richards ivere appointed to arrange a programme of. meets for June and ■lnly; Mr Medlicott stating that there had been several offers to give hunts.

Accounts amounting to £55 2s 8d were pased for payment. The secretary stated that after payment of the acounty the debit balance would be £474.
