FOOTBALL.

RUGBY SUB-UNION. A meeting of the Waimate Rugby Sun-Union was held on Monday night Present: Messrs N. L. Thomas (President), E. J. Costello, D. Newall, W. Lee, H. Smith, R. Clear, A. McLauchlan, E. P. Lowry, D. Williams, A. Hall (secretary). T. Joyc e was granted permission to play for Northern, W. Arbuckle for Southern. A meeting was also held to form a Referees’ Association, E. B. Fraser, W. Grainger, H. Bishop, N. Mines, a’ Henderson, R. Olliver, D. A. Fulton, S. Malthus, J. McKenzie and N. Smith attending. It was agreed to form the association under the title Waimate Referees’ Association, Mr E. B. Fraser being elected president, Mr Henderson secretary.

It was decided to meet each Friday at Mr Fraser’s rooms, High St. Ihe following were selected to referee for Thursday’s games: L. Smith, junior match at 'Waimate; senior match, A. Henderson; match at Willowbridge, A. McKenzie.

THURSDAY’S MATCHES.

The following is the Glenavy team to play Huimai at Willowbridge tomorrow :- —Forwards: Eathorne, T. Fleming, J. Fleming, McCullough, Maiaharao, McCullough, Delargy, Rehu. Baeks: Marshall, Fraser, Mathieson, Robertson, Walker, Lavery, Hollamby. Emergencies: Forwards, Upton and Herald. Baeks, McCarthy and Elliot. ,

The following will play for Huimai on Thursday next in their match against Glenavy at Willowbridge:— Baeks: Selwyn, F. Garland, Dixon, Marshall, Heath, D. Cameron, c’ Melton. Forwards: Wehepihana, Forsyth, Kelly, Ward, Woodward, M. Hayman, Bailey. Emergencies: Forwards, Dunnell, Kearton, Hollamby (2), Gallagher. Backs: Benson, Colville, Patrick.

The following will represent Marists to-morrow in their match with Southern Football Club: —M. Meehan, G. Lundon, J. Flynn, J. Breslin, T. Kennedy, W. Fleming, S. Morton, T. Burns, J. Hansen, C. O’Connor, J. Twomey, H. Shea, S. O’Connor, L. Foley. Emergencies: J. O’Brien, J. Burns, M. Fox.

The following will represent Southern Football Club in the match against Marists: Mumford, Veitch, Hassall, Sullivan, Anderson, Kaan’ Auld, and L. Howard. Forwards: J. Stewart, A. Stewart, Eathorne, Wilds Wilson, Manchester and Dench. Emergency, W. Howard.
