RAINS INTERFERE. (Per Press Association —Copyright.) LONDON, May 20. Rain interferred with cricket during the week, but there were excellent performances with bat and ball. Parkin and Durston and Cook have been mowing down wickets in very deadly fashion. Essex made 154 and 158, and Notts Middlesex is delighted that Hendren has returned to his best form. 250 for nine and 63 for two. Kent 155 and 273 for four (Woolley 102 not out) drew with Somerset 332. Yorkshire 147 and 314 for four, against Derbyshire 130 and 80. Waddington took eleven wickets for 57. Gloucester 227 and 97, Middlesex 151 and 125 for 7 wickets. FURTHER SCORES. ' LONDON, May 21. Essex scored 965 against Surrey, of wiiich Russell made 115. Lancashire have two wickets down for 377 against Worcester, of which Makepeace made 152 and Hallows not out 155. Yorkshire scored 342 against North Hants, of which R. Kilner made 124.
